[FDE] How important is FIPS 140-2 Level 1 cert?

Do you mean FIPS 140-1 or -2?  There is almost no interest in FIPS 140-1 but
great interest in FIPS 140-2 at least on the part of the Federal government.
I hear varying responses to FIPS 140-2 from the corporate world.  However,
FIPS 201 could be as important to the corporate world as the governments
development of EDS many years back.

Hello All,

I would like to know how much weight people usually give to the FIPS
140-2 Level 1 certification.

If two products have exactly same feature set, but one is FIPS 140-2
Level 1 certified but cost twice. Would you go for it, considering the
Level 1 is the lowest.
