I would also suggest for your evaluation FileVault which is free and  
included in all Mac OS X versions for Apple computers. Many  
government agencies are now using Macs because of their inherent high  
level of security and because of FileVault, a complete disk  
encryption program.

Three years ago, I also tested in my previous life made of Windows  
the application called SecureDoc from WinMagic. IMO, it was then, and  
may still be the most complete product to date for total disk  
encryption in a Windows environment, either in a user-managed or an  
admin-managed format.
