[FDE] hardware accelerated full disk encryption

I personally don't see a need for using FDE solutions on a NAS or a
SAN device. Remember after the device is online FDE is pretty much
useless, all the data is available in  "decrypted" form.

FDE is mostly intended for protecting mobile device in offline mode in
case they are stolen. I am sure it is not so easy to steal a SAN or a
NAS due to the physical security in place.

On NAS or SAN, encrypting individual file or folder might be more important.....

I would like to hear from people who think otherwise.
