One more question: When you copy a encrypted file from your computer
to a external storage device (e.g. USB Flash Drive) does the file
remain encrypted OR does it get decrypted automatically?

This is one of the problems with Windows EFS. If I copy my EFS
encrypted file to a Flash drive with FAT32 system, the encryption is
no longer maintained, and  file is copied in plain-text.
