[FDE] On dual boot

This is not correct.  MySecureDoc is stripped down version of our enterprise
class product called SecureDoc.  The product MySecureDoc is sold as a B2C
product for private consumers to address a retail market.  Please visit
www.winmagic.com to review our product SecureDoc which addresses the
enterprise market.

SecureDoc does support multiple boot partitions for laptops and desktops.
The Linux SUSE partition is indeed encrypted.  In fact, the SecureDoc
product encrypts the entire hard drive and as such all associated partitions
- XP partitions, Vista partitions, and Linux partitions.  No additional
licenses are required.

SecureDoc provides single or multiple factor pre-boot authentication to the
hard drive employing password, smartcard, USB token, biometrics, PKI, or TPM
(at pre-boot).  Once end user authentication has taken place, the hard drive
can boot up from what ever partition the end user desires including: XP,
Vista, or SUSE Linux.  We have been able to do so for quite some time.
Further, SecureDoc will provide users with a true enterprise class
comprehensive data-at-rest enterprise solution that will also take care of
encrypting removable media including USB external drives and CD/DVDs. Still
further our enterprise server is able to configure user/group profiles
creating exe or msi packages, and will work with push technologies like SMS
to deliver these installation packages throughout the network to clients.
The server also dynamically provisions encryptions keys to end users and
allows for a unique key labeling feature.  This server is SQL server based
and can manage tens of 10,000's of encryption keys.

All that is required is one license for the enterprise server for the entire
enterprise and one license for each client to get all of the above.

be used to encrypt partitions on which (for eg) XP and Vista are installed, 
but your Suse Linux partition won't be encrypted. Is that accurate? If so, 
the problem with that is that the Linux data are not protected by SecureDoc.

(Also, a potential problem is whether an additional license is required to 
encrypt both the XP and the Vista partition.)

So, in that scenario, isn't a hardware solution (like the Momentus FDE.2 
drive) the only feasible way to encrypt all data on the disk?

Hello, Rodrigo.

SecureDoc supports dual boot capabilities.  In fact, multiple boot.  You
could have your notebook set up with an XP, Vista, and Linux partitions if
you like.  Our product will work the same regardless.
