Sharath,
I'm not sure if your question was answered yet. We are one of the
approved ISV's for Seagate's hardware-based solution. We currently offer a
single-user solution that uses a simple password based on your Windows user
account and password. We also offer basic password recovery through an
emergency recovery information (ERI) file. Although this is intended for
individual use, your system admin can easily collect these ERI files and
store them in a centralized place.
Regarding an enterprise solution, we will have that in place later this
Quarter. It will be very similar to our existing enterprise-level
software-based FDE product, SECUDE secure notebook. This already features
smart card support, off-line key recovery, and robust admin scripts. Indeed
the new product will support both software- and hardware-based encryption,
with one interface. So when you install the application on your computer, it
will automatically detect whether or not your computer has a self-encrypting
hard drive. If it does not, then the application will default to
software-based encryption. This is not a bad thing; SC magazine rated our
software-based FDE 5 stars out of 5 for Performance. In this way you can
blanket our solution on ALL of your existing legacy computers while you
gradually upgrade to new computers featuring hardware-based FDE.
Sorry to talk so much about "the future." So instead, here is something
from the present - in fact, just released today:

I saw that the Seagate solution is leading the votes. Can somebody
explain to me how does the Seagate solution work in a corporate
environment with centralized management, key recovery, multi user
authentication on single system as well as different authentication
factors...
Warm Regards
Sharath Jeppu,
