Razdan,
Given that there have been rumors around for years that the CIA
had attempted to assassinate Castro by use of mob connections,
which has now been verified, I'd say the better part of wisdom
would be to be skeptical and treat them as rumor when talking
about them, but act like they are facts when protecting any data
you don't want looked at.
There have always been such types of rumors, like the Checkpoint
firewall back door for the Mosad. Some get proven, some don't.
I have seen too many things that start as rumors of government or
big business malfeasance turn out to be true to ignore the
potential for liars and dissemblers among those with with power.
Look at the "True Innocence Project" to see how low in the power
structure this goes when there are no long term goals behind the
actions of those with power, just ego and PR value.
Best,
Allen
