[FDE] What does Hitachi Travelstar 7K200 use for authentication?

Hello,

As most of probably have already heard that Hitachi has a released a
HDD with bulk encryption. The encryption is performed by System on
Chip (SOC) as part of the firmware. See:

However I am not sure how the drives authenticates the user before
unlocking (decrypting) the data.

Does anyone know what provisions the Hitachi drive has for
authenticating the user?
