I received answer from Seagate, Hitachi and Stonewood support

For Flagstone HDD first:
"Hi Jeff,

In response to your email submitted to the FDE Forum, FlagStone is
not currently compatible with Apple Mac Laptops. FlagStone works
with PC-AT Computers which makes it compatible with all windows and
linux operating systems only.

FlagStone is available globally either direct via Stonewood or
through our international Channel Partners. We have partnerships
with resellers, system integrators and OEM’s who can supply our
FlagStone Range for retro fit purposes or factory fitted.

We expect to be developing the FlagStone Technology further in the
future to ensure compatibility with all Apple Mac machines. I am
sorry we are unable to meet your needs at this time.

Naturally if I can assist you further please do not hesitate to
contact me.

Kind regards

Wendy Hyde
Business Development Manager
FlagStone International"

Second with Hitachi, more confused about their 7K200
"Thank you for contacting our Hitachi Technical Support Center

Yes it is possible please visit this two links and learn more:

Apple-Security
- http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/security/
- http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/filevault/

With the Filevault you can change the Hitachi hard drive in a other rack
and your datas are encrypted.
After inserting you will see an folder you can not open until you
type in
the password.
That was the answer of a Apple retailer.

You have at first the possibility to protect the general entrence to
your
laptop account.
You have at second an alternative to encrypted folders that only you can
open.

Your questition: Can I use bulk?
Answer: Not bulk, but the Apple Tool.

Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to
contact us
at: support_uk at hitachigst.com

Kind regards,

Erik Wegener

Last, with Seagate about Momentus 5400 FDE
"Dear Jeff,

Thank you for your E-mail inquiry to Seagate Technical Support.
We apologize for the delay in responding to your E-mail.
As I understand that, with regards to your query, I would suggest to
contact your Mac Support Center and check whether the system is
compatible with 160 GB hard drive. If your Mac Computer is capable of
supporting 160 GB capacity Hard drive, then you would be able to use
Seagate Momentus 5400 FDE.2 ST9160824AS Hard drive in your Mac Computer.

If you have any additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you,
Victor
Seagate Technical Support"
But nothing about using FDE possibility of the drive on a Macbook. I
sent them another mail to precise this.

If you have other information about FDE and Macintel, i'm very
interesting
