[FDE] Should Boucher be forced to handover the passwordtoencrypted data?

Since some of this seems to hang on the idea of the password not being a
physical item, what if the police knew the pass phrase but needed you to
turn over the required token?

The analogous case here would be the police see something in your open
safe they don't like, they confiscate the safe, accidently lock it, and
want you to give them the combination.
